The United States Congress passed the Port Act on
September 30th, 2006. President Bush then signed the Port Act on Friday the
13th, October 2006. Major poker rooms such as Party Poker, Paradise Poker, and
PokerRoom banned U.S. players right away. However, thousands of US poker players
continue to play online at many of the other well-established online poker rooms
that continue to accept US players.
